| |
While all persons are entitled to earn sufficient income befitting their needs, a police officer must swear and oath of allegiance and duty to the police force first and then to any other occupation second. |
|
| |
In addition, the operation of more than one job by a police officer can place that police officer in jeapordy of compromise. Therefore, the following rules shall apply in relation to secondary employment by a police officer. |
|
| |
(i) That the work is disclosed to a superior officer; |
|
| |
(ii) That the work in no way relates to security, protection or any other occupation directly or indirectly associated with the fact that the officer is a police officer; |
|
| |
(iii) That the work in no way is associated with an enterprise that is morally questionable, if not illegal; |
|
| |
(iv) That the work is no way is directly or indirectly associated with a person with an active criminal record; |
|
